The Terminal 2 Expansion is located south of the existing Terminal 1, acting as the gateway into Hong Kong International Airport’s Three-Runway System expansion project. Featuring a large undulating roof & ceiling system in seven “feather” bays echoing Terminal 1’s vaulted design, passengers are processed through five levels, connecting to the future Third Runway Concourse via an extended Automated People Mover underground. Connecting Terminal 1 and 2 is a re-vamped Ground Transportation Center providing access to & from the City via MTR subway line and bus routes. Green features such as solar panels are installed on this roof and are visible during passenger drop-off.

While overseeing the development of the external envelope as the leader of his own team, Eric focused primarily on the geometrically complex Roof/ceiling package. Practically a building in itself, the Main Roof of the Terminal 2 not only included envelope design, but also maintenance/access design, MEP & structural coordination, lighting design, and fire engineering coordination.

An expert in both Rhinoceros and Revit, Eric has streamlined his workflow between the two industry-standard applications, effectively balancing design and documentation.
